Large memory occupation doesn’t mean slowness

Many of us may complain for Windows 7’s large occupation of system resources. However, many IT technicians claimed that this view is not reasonable at all.

Earlier this week, Craig Barthes, CTO of Devil Mountain said that nearly 90% of Windows 7 PCs’ RAM occupation rate is usually 3.3GB and its rate is as high as 90% -95%. Thus Windows 7 system needs to use twice as larger virtual memory as XP does.

Why large memory (4GB) not recognized in Windows 7?

If your RAM is 4GB or more, and local video memory is 1GB or more, DXDiag.exe, a DirectX diagnostic tool, will show you Approximate Total Memory smaller than its real size. For a computer with 1GB local video memory, estimated RAM shown in the report will only be 3496MB, 454MB, and 1259MB while RAM is respectively 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB.

This problem is not severe, but the large RAM and video memory, and you cannot set the maximum details, things will be serious.
